Latino Content Studio is seeking an experienced leader to be its Head of Operations. You will play a critical role in the financial management, HR, and operational efficiency of Latino Content Studio. Reporting to the Founder, Jessica Morales-Rocketto, you will ensure that our studio’s operations run smoothly, align with our mission, and support the strategic goals of growth and sustainability.
Here’s what you could expect to do as Head of Operations, Latino Content Studio (key responsibilities):
Financial Management & Budgeting:
Manage and oversee the studio budget, ensuring financial health and sustainability through diligent tracking and reporting of expenses, revenues and fundraising.
Develop future budgets in alignment with organizational goals and priorities, providing clear financial forecasts and analyses.
Handle invoicing and payments for contractors, vendors, and other service providers, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Collaborate with the fundraising team to devise and implement fundraising plans for 2025 and beyond, supporting the studio’s financial goals.
Strategic Planning, Operations and Program Management:
Ensure the content studio programs and staffing align with the studio's strategic plan, enabling successful fundraising strategies, and serving an increasing audience.
Coordinate with Accelerate Change leadership on operational issues to streamline processes, optimize efficiency, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
Establish and monitor metrics to track and evaluate programs and ensure strategic goals.
Oversee and coordinate large-scale projects, specifically related to developing new content areas like news desk or podcast programs. This would typically include managing timelines, resources, teams, and communication to ensure that the projects are completed successfully and meet their objectives
.Legal & Compliance:
Work closely with legal teams to define revenue-sharing agreements, exclusivity terms, and ensure compliance with 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4)regulations. This involves working with talent and compliance lawyers.
Track adherence to these agreements and compliance standards, updating internal stakeholders as necessary.
Manage contracts with external partners, ensuring clarity in terms and conditions while maintaining a focus on the studio’s best interests.
Develop and ensure contractors and staff are tracking time spent on various Accelerate Change entities.
Human Resources & Team Development:
Develop a hiring plan to build a skilled and diverse team, including full-time staff and vetted contractors.
Oversee and manage the execution of the hiring plan, ensuring recruitment of top talent aligned with the studio’s needs and culture.
Perform HR functions such as routine personnel evaluations, feedback sessions, and professional development planning to support employee growth and retention.
Provide leadership, support, and guidance to foster a collaborative and productive work environment for employees and contractors.
Reporting & Performance:
Monitor and report on progress towards operational goals, making adjustments to plans based on results.
Provide regular updates to the Founder, highlighting key activities, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.

7+ years experience with key responsibilities: We’re looking for someone who has at least 7 years of experience in operations, financial management, and HR, ideally within the media or non-profit sector.
Academic alignment: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, media studies, business management or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Ability to communicate in both languages: Must be fully bilingual in English & Spanish
Executive and strategic leadership experience: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
Excellent strategic thinking and creative problem-solving: You’re a “big picture” thinker but aren’t afraid to roll your sleeves up and get into the weeds and help set up your team for success.
Nonprofit finance experience: You have significant prior experience providing oversight and guidance to nonprofit finance in regards to budget management and financial analysis.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills: You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
Deep understanding of Latino culture: Knowledge of Latino culture, issues, and media landscape preferred.
Digital media and data/insights analysis: Familiarity with audience analytics tools and broadcast research methodologies.
$140,000-$175,000 salary range, with exact salary depending on experience and new staff rarely starting at the top of the range
Flexibility for work and life: Unlike a lot of places, we actually believe that people should only work 40 hours each week, except for occasional sprints that require more time in a week. We also trust everyone to make a schedule that works for them, as long as you’re able to join all necessary meetings. Want to work more one day and less the next? Fine by us. Work better in the middle of the night than during the afternoon? Go for it. Need to shift your hours to be able to pick up your kid from school? All good.

Cell phone and internet reimbursement (or co-working reimbursement): We acknowledge that working from home requires using your own internet and phone for work purposes so we offer a set reimbursement amount for cell phone and internet usage. If working from home isn’t for you, we also have the option for folks to rent a co-working space and get reimbursed for their monthly costs.
