Accelerate Change is seeking a freelance video editor specializing in short-form video content for social media platforms. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience creating engaging, high-performing content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, with the ability to scale to longer-form content as needed.
Here’s what you could expect to do as a freelance Video Editor (key responsibilities):
Create and edit compelling short-form videos optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
Adapt to platform-specific trends, formats, and best practices to maximize engagement
Design and implement eye-catching transitions, text overlays, and effects that capture attention
Edit content to maintain viewer retention through strong pacing and narrative structure
Integrate motion graphics and visual elements that align with platform aesthetics
Repurpose and optimize content across multiple platforms while maintaining quality and engagement
Collaborate with the content team on ideation and storyboarding for short-form series
Ensure consistent branding while staying current with evolving platform trends
Format videos appropriately for each platform's specifications (aspect ratios, length requirements, etc.)
Work from a creative brief and work across various different partner brand guidelines

2+ years experience with key responsibilities: We’re looking for someone who has at least 2 years of hands-on experience with professional video editing software (such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar), motion graphics, and social media video optimization
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in industry-standard video editing software and familiarity with current video trends and best practices for social media
Portfolio Showcase: Strong portfolio demonstrating variety in video editing styles, motion graphics capabilities, and social media content
Creative Problem-Solver: Think creatively and find innovative solutions to visual storytelling challenges
Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for understanding project requirements and collaborating with team members
Excellent Time Management: Skilled in working independently, managing time effectively, and meeting deadlines consistently
This is a 3-month, part-time freelance opportunity with the potential to extend. The compensation range is $40 - $55 per hour, depending on experience. The number of hours per week will vary, but we estimate roughly between 10 to 20 hours per week.
